Hurstpierpoint's Remembrance Day Parade 2021

By Major Richardson MBE

The parade will go ahead this year (we hope), but sadly without the support of the normal band or the traffic marshalling, so we have had to leverage the great will of the people of Hurstpierpoint and the team at Hurst College to make it happen. The support from Rev Jane Willis and our Parish Council Office has been tremendous.

A special thanks and recognition must go to Sarah Groom. I would also like to give thanks to Hurst College Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and our very own detachment of CCF who have been of great help, along with Capt Margaret Taylor from the Girls Brigade, the wonderful St Lawrence School and the Poacher Irregulars, who have rallied to ensure we have traffic marshalling covered. A huge thanks to everyone for helping in making this happen.

We meet at around 10.30am at South Ave Rec on 14th November 2021, to parade to the war memorial for 10.50am - after which a service will take place in the church. Seats in Holy Trinity will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, and a face-covering is strongly recommended inside.
