Hurst Festival celebrates a great event

By Margaret Carey, Trustee

The overwhelming impression of this year’s Hurst Festival – amazingly, this was the eleventh one – has been of happy people enjoying themselves at a huge variety of events aimed at people of every age.

Baby Sensory Workshops were for children of 13 months (yes, months!) or younger, and the Hurst Afternoon Club and Cake at the College tea parties was for people at the other end of the age range! The scope and quality of this year’s programme and the excellence of the brochure which was delivered to more or less every home in Hurstpierpoint and Sayers Common, has been outstanding. You will all have your favourite events so please tell us what you liked best, and even what you didn’t, so we can begin planning for next year during the next few weeks. New ideas, contacts, helpers, performers and artists will be warmly welcomed. And if you didn’t get your first choice of tickets because small audience events sell out quickly, do consider joining the Friends of Hurst Festival which will give you priority booking in future. The Festival is always in the second half of September, so put it in your diary now!
